OEBB’S Four Key Ministries:
The four key ministry areas focus on spiritual formation and human development :
- Church planting and discipleship: Our focus is to support individual in building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which is the foundation for lasting change.
- Education: We are committed to educating children and providing an improved quality of life towards a sustainable future.
- Health: The access to basic health care in Haiti is limited. We are working through our outpatient clinics to provide medical care to the communities we serve.
- Orphanages: Providing care for orphans is a ministry near to the heart of God. James 1:27 reminds us that “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” OEBB is committed to caring for the vulnerable and care for those in need, as this pleases God. At our girls and boys orphanages, we seek to provide an opportunity for a bright and hopeful future.
Pastor Martinez has planted eight churches and one (Lavoute) joined the mission ten years ago. Currently, the mission has nine churches where the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached faithfully. Local pastors have been trained through our correspondence courses and then serve to reach the lost for Christ and disciple believers to grow and mature in the Christian faith.
There are currently over two thousand members and 23 ministry leaders within the nine mission churches. Please pray for all those who serve the Lord in the various ministry capacities.
Education Program:
There is a total of seven schools and two of the seven school provides secondary education (Jacmel and Cabaret). The feeding program is available in five of the schools offering a lunch program. Over 1,300 students make up the OEBB education program. Many of our schools are situated in areas where it is difficult for children to have access to a government approved education.
Pastor Martinez and Emma have a heart for children and desire strongly to ensure that children have access to government sanctioned education and the ability to remain in their hometown. Some of our high school students travel a great distance to attend high school in the Marbial High School. On occasions and a few students find it easier to stay on campus for the week and return home for the weekend.
Since the earthquake, four schools have been damaged, two irreparably damaged and one soon to be reopened. OEBB is prayerfully seeking ways to ensure our students continue their education in these difficult times. Some of our schools have been damaged and some of our students have sustained some lost and therefore their support base has weekend. We seek your prayers in these difficult times as we respond to Gods guidance in our efforts to remedy these various challenges.
Medical Ministry:
OEBB currently operates two outpatient clinics with minimal cost to the patients. In order to provide these services, OEBB currently depend on visiting physicians and nurses who volunteer their time and skills. OEBB employs a nurse for the Jacmel clinic on a part-time basis to provide care. Through this vital ministry, OEBB partners and friends have had a great impact on various communities by insuring the continuation of delivery of healthcare services.
Orphanage Ministry:
OEBB operates a girl and boy orphanage. Currently, girls and boys ranging from 8-12 years old are sheltered in two locations: Port-au-Prince (girls) and Jacmel (boys). Currently, the girls in the Port-au-Prince (Delmas) orphanage are educated in the OEBB Delmas primary school and share a home with two nurturing “house mothers”. The boys in the Jacmel (Marbial) orphanage are educated in the OEBB Marbial primary school and share a home with two a nurturing couple. OEBB trusts that God will continue to provide for the future of these children.
